First, the festivities open with the participation of the local samba schools, which must perform at the sambódromo for three consecutive days. The presentations begin late at night and culminate in the early hours of the morning.
Finally, the highest caliber comparsas take the facilities for themselves, where they present their choreographies, costumes and music before a jury for 4 days. At the end of the festivities, the winner is given to the comparsa that performed the best.
