What is Whitley Bay Carnival?

The Whitley Bay Carnival is a celebration held each year when various artists are brought together along with the community to showcase the best of this seaside town during the festive weekend at the end of May. Whitley Bay Carnivals last for three days where a variety of outdoor art, theater, music and street food events, market stalls and various attractions are present.

The celebration features structures and extravagant costumes that are carried out thanks to the help of artists. In addition, schools and local groups working to create costumes and activities also participate. During the festivities there is acarnival ball held on Saturday night, which aims to be like thewedding party you never had.
