The Zomercarnaval is a summer carnival held annually in the city of Rotterdam. The celebration is held with the intention of imitating the traditional Latin American, Caribbean and Cape Verdean carnival.

The city of Nijmegen once again becomes Knotsenburg for the Carnival, decorating its streets in black and red as tradition dictates. Knotsenburg is the name that has been used since 1968.

The Bolduque Carnival, in Dutch Den Bosch or Oeteldonk as it is called in carnivals, is a celebration that takes place every year in the city of Bolduque lasting 3 days.

During the festivities, Tilburg will be transformed into 'Kruikenstad'. The Tilburg Carnival is one of the biggest events in the city. In the carnival season, the city of Tilburg is decorated in the characteristic colors of its carnival, orange and green.

Eindhoven Carnival is a celebration that takes place in Eindhoven. During the festivities, Eindhoven becomes "Lampegat" due to the tradition of renaming cities during carnival in The Netherlands.

Carnival in the Netherlands is mainly celebrated in the southern region of the country and most events operate more or less under the same mechanics or theme.

Maastricht Carnival is a celebration that takes place every year in the university town of Maastricht in the Netherlands. During the Maastricht carnival festivities, the streets are covered with traditional flags.
