Although Africa is not a continent where carnival is practiced as in the case of Europe, Latin America or the Caribbean; the traditions, customs, colors and dances definitely have African origins.
The Takoradi Street Carnival, also known as the Ankos Festival, is an annual celebration held in the African country of Ghana. Its festivities mainly feature groups or bands that wear incredible costumes.
